Problem: Poor Absorbance Accuracy

Common causes:

  • Detector nonlinearity
  • Signal clipping (i.e. analog signal bigger than analog to digital converter range)
  • Processing problems

Suggestions:

*Re-linearize detector pre-amplifier.
*Reducing the amount of light in the system can also improve detector linearity, turn down signal gain, or increase scan speed.
*Try a different apodization function.
